The Tunkhannock Area girls’ soccer team faced a 2-1 loss from Pittston Area at home on Friday after it took a 1-0 victory over Hanover in a road game on Wednesday afternoon.

On Friday, Pittston struck first in the first half before Brittany Sickler would find the goal for the Tigers with an assist from Cassi Werner at 23:38 in the first half to tie things up at 1-1.

However, Pittston scored a second first half goal at 11:54 to take the lead, and eventually the win.

Tunkhannock took 12 shots on goal and had four corners while goalie Traci Kromko had 18 saves.

On Wednesday, Anna Boecker broke a scoreless tie early in the second half with an unassisted goal.

Kromko had eight saves as the Tigers took eight shots on goal and one corner.
