Five Tunkhannock Area athletes have been named to the Wyoming Valley Conference coaches’ all-star team for their performance in the 2012 season.

Tunkhannock Area’s Jack Tidball, Carson Ayers and Alex Nole were named to the boys’ team, while Maggie Toczko and Erin Rome received a nod for the girls’ team.

Tidball, a sophomore, placed 36th overall in the state with a time of 17:17, after qualifying for the state meet with a sixth place overall finish at 19:09 at districts in Class AA.

Ayers, a junior, placed 89th in the state with a time of 17:47 after taking 11th overall in the district at 19:31.

Nole, a senior, took 96th in the state for Tunkhannock with a time of 17:50, after finishing 12th overall at districts with a time of 19:37.

On the girls’ side, Toczko, a freshman, placed 22nd overall in the state with a time of 19:57, after taking a fourth place finish in Class AA in districts at 21:08.

Rome, a sophomore, finished in the top half of runners in 102nd place at states with a time of 21:11. She qualified for the state meet, taking 15th overall with a time of 22:45.
