Home gutted by fire

An early afternoon fire on Saturday gutted a Mehoopany Township home belonging to Charlie Karschner.
Multiple fire companies responded to the blaze off Rt. 87 and tied up traffic in the area for a few hours.
A Red Cross team is providing two residents with food, clothing and shelter regional Red Cross Executive Director Carmon Flynn said.
In addition to FWM, Good Will of Laceyville, and Triton of Tunkhannock assisted at the scene along with area ambulance companies.
Wyoming County dispatchers said a call went out around 12:30 p.m., for the fire that appears to have started on the second floor.
No further information was available.
