Lions go 1-1 on court

The Lackawanna Trail boys’ basketball team took a 66-64 victory over Susquehanna after it was dealt a 71-52 loss from Riverside at home on Thursday night.
Against Susquehanna, the teams battled back-and-forth through the first half with the Sabers outscoring the Lions, 20-8, in the first quarter and the Lions outscoring the Sabers, 16-15, in the second to make it 35-24 at halftime.
The teams came out after halftime and each scored 16 in the third quarter before Lackawanna Trail paced the Sabers 19-8 in the third to send the game into overtime where the Lions outscored Susquehanna 7-5 to take the win.
Dalton Mecke hit six three-pointers and scored 22 points while Matt Decker had a double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds and Ross Fauquier had 11 points and six assists.

Riverside game
The Lions fell behind early as Riverside paced them 21-11 in the first quarter, and 17-9 in the second to trail 38-20 at halftime.
In the second half, the Lions led Riverside 16-15 before Riverside capped the win with an 18-16 fourth quarter.
Lackawanna Trail was led by Ross Fauquier’s 15 points while Dalton Mecke chipped in 14 and Matt Decker added 11.
