Warriors go 1-1 on court

The Elk Lake boys’ basketball team faced a 42-40 loss from Montrose on the road on Friday night after the team picked up a 75-50 victory over Blue Ridge’s Raiders at home on Tuesday night.
On Friday, the Warriors came out to an early 16-6 lead after the first quarter, but Montrose paced the Warriors 9-7 in the second quarter to cut the Warriors lead to 23-15 at halftime.
In the third quarter, the Meteors outscored the Warriors 16-4 to take a 31-27 lead going into the fourth.
Elk Lake outscored Montrose 13-11 in the fourth, but the Meteors held on to the lead to take the victory.
Elk Lake was led by Tanner Reyan with 12 points while Tyler Arnold and Rob Heft each scored nine.

Blue Ridge game
The Warriors got off to a hot start and led Blue Ridge 23-12 by the end of the first quarter, and went on to hold a 45-23 lead over the Raiders by halftime.
In the second half, the Warriors paced scoring efforts, 15-12, in the third and capped the win as each team scored 15 in the fourth.
Elk Lake was led by Matt Woolcock with a team-high 23 points including five three-pointers while Tanner Reyan added 19, Rob Heft added 15 and Tyler Arnold chipped in seven.
Blue Ridge’s Sawyer Dearborn was honored in the third quarter as he scored his 1,000th career point on a 4-point play. He finished with 25.
