Warriors pick up three wins

The Elk Lake boys’ basketball team defeated Blue Ridge, 58-48, on the road on Friday, took a 72-47 victory over Forest City at home on Wednesday after a 78-43 victory over Mountain View on the road on Tuesday night.

On Friday night, the Warriors came out to an early lead with a 15-9 run in the first quarter and went on to hold a 24-18 lead at halftime.

In the third quarter, the Warriors paced the Raiders 21-14 and despite the Raiders pacing Elk Lake 16-13 in the fourth, went on to take the win.

Tanner Reyan scored 24 points to lead the Warriors while Matt Woolcock had 10 and Pete McGee chipped in nine.

Forest City game

Against Forest City, the Warriors got ahead early with a 25-8 run in the first quarter before pacing the Foresters in the second to hold a 47-18 lead at the half.

In the third, Forest City paced the Warriors 15-14 and despite a 14-11 run for the Foresters in the fourth, Elk Lake hung on to win.

Tanner Reyan led all scorers with 20 points and Matt Woolcock and Pete McGee each added 13.

Elk Lake opened to outscored the Eagles 13-9 in the first quarter before leading the way 20-10 in the second to hold a 33-19 lead at halftime.

In the second half, the Warriors paced Mountain View 25-11 in the third and 20-13 in the fourth to cap the win.

Tanner Reyan scored 28 points and Rob Heft hit seven three-pointers and scored 27 points to lead Elk Lake.

Pete McGee added 11 and Nick Dudock scored six.
