Warriors lock down LL division title

The Elk Lake boys’ basketball team faced a 59-50 loss to Mid Valley at home on Wednesday night, a day after the team locked downed the Lackawanna League Division IV title with a 71-59 overtime victory over Susquehanna at home on Tuesday night.
Facing Mid Valley, the Warriors fell behind early in the game with the Spartans outscoring the Warriors 15-11 in the first quarter, and after the Warriors led scoring 15-13 in the second they trailed 28-26 at halftime.
In the second half, Elk Lake brought the game within one point by the end of the third, but a 20-12 run from Mid Valley in the fourth was the Warriors’ downfall.
Elk Lake was led by Tanner Reyan who scored 20 points while Rob Heft dropped in 17 and Tyler Arnold scored five.

Susquehanna game
Elk Lake got an early lead, going 17-9 over the Sabers in the first quarter, but Susquehanna battled back, leading scoring 16-9 in the second to trail the Warriors 26-25 by halftime.
In the third quarter, Elk Lake outscored the Sabers 15-10, but Susquehanna paced the Warriors 20-14 in the fourth to send the game to OT.
However, Matt Woolcock scored eight of his 13 points in overtime to help the Warriors top the Sabers.
Rob Heft led scoring with 24 points while Tanner Reyan chipped in 12 and Nick Dudock had 10.
