Ethel Frey Learned 88, of Tunkhannock, died Sunday morning, July 20, 2008, at Tyler Memorial Hospital, Tunkhannock, after an illness. She and her husband Ned celebrated their 35th anniversary, July 1.
Ethel was born in Brownsville, daughter of the late John and Ethel Zona Vago.
She was a member of the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed gardening, her home and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gerald Frey, and by a sister, Irene Vago.
Also surviving are two sons: Fred Frey and his wife Marti of Kingston and Gerald Frey and his wife Kelly of Bryn Mawr; five granddaughters: Patti Frey of Harrisburg, Marti-ann Fairbanks and her husband Joe of McMurray, Cathi Frey of Etters, Bessmarie Frey of Forty Fort, and Michelle Schopf and her husband Mark of Middletown; three grandsons: Sam, Jonah and Alec Frey all of Bryn Mawr; nine great grandchildren, two brothers: John Vago and his wife Grace of Tunkhannock, Arthur Vago and his wife Rita of Aurora, Colo.; and nieces and nephews.
The funeral was Tuesday, July 22, at the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home 123 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock.
Interment in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock.
