Our son lives on Hunter road. He has to buy a truck because his beatle drags on the road so bad he put a hole in his oil pan... Twice...$400 to fix it each time. They can just not keep up with the road damage. ITS SPRING...

Sick of people handing out lists of rules for which they are never enforced. That is my first complaint. I have a lady burning her large plastic trash bags of garbage every week that stink up our side of town. We`ve heard things exploding in her fires. We have feared that one of the times she will catch our property on fire!! She has burned area rugs, and last year a mattress, and 3-4 inner tubes that had a plume of black smoke!!! It`s rediculous. We`ve tried notifying the borough and no one is ever available. Last year we even had a good neighbor who walks with his wife and sister put out a area rug that the neighbor was burning and she just leaves when she has a fire going. She keeps her dog unleashed and it has chased after me and a jogger. I think a leash law definitely needs to be put in affect. Also pets having feces while being walked should be picked up from their owner who is responsible in walking them. I`ll be looking forward to rats coming into my home because of the trash my neighbor tries to burn up and if it doesn`t burn, she shovels it out of her burn pile and throws it over the hill behind her property for which she does not own. I love where I live and love the people in my community but I just think if they want to make rules, that they should enforce them a little better and I think citations should be handed out. Also I think the borough should give everyone clothing allowance because I ruined all my new shirts and husbands uniforms by washing in such highly chlorinated water. My shower head which is 2 years old is already corroding from the chlorine in the water and most of our clothes were bleached from the chlorine in our water system. For your information, I do not use bleach in my home because it is bad for septic. Thank you for your time.

Dog ordinances are the least of my concerns. How about an ordinance for the pigs burning heaping piles of plastic with the occasional explosion from their burn pile? A little common courtesy for your neighbor goes a long way.

I saw a mountain lion while mountain biking up in Stoney Valley (outside of Dauphin, PA), near the vicinity of the Yellow Springs bridge on the rail trail. That was 2 summers ago. I think I was as startled by him as he was of me. He approached from the creek side of the trail and cleared the trail in 2 hops 25 to 30 yards in front me and headed up the mountain.

100 yards back on the same trail I had come across a couple on horseback who cautioned me that their horses were jumpy for some reason that day and to be cautious as I passed them. I later found out why the horses were jumpy.

I know it was not a bobcat because it's hair reminded me of a Yellow Lab with a long tail. The Mountain Lion went into a thicket of brush and he and I watched each other. I swear I could hear him hiss. He then made a dash up the mountain heading in the direction of Clark's Valley. The Game Commission assured me I saw something else. While at the Bass Pro in Harrisburg one day I looked up at their mountain lion exhibit and knew without a doubt that is what I saw that day in Stoney Valley.

ok well i was there... and lee IS the main culprit in this whole messed up situation. it was lees truck, lees ideas. keith told him no, it aint a good idea numerous times. if it wasnt for keith, lee WOULD be sittin a state prison. im not sayin keith is an angel,but please he doesnt deserve what he got. i hung out with keith for over a year before i met lee or keith was hangin with him. we NEVER did bad things. he never wanted to rob or hurt anyone/thing. he really is a great kid. but as for lee, he has issues that are gunna lead to much stronger and deeper legal problems. hes a sick individual and needs too be stopped. poor keith sits in jail for the best years of his life while this piece of **** runs loose on the streets, stealing, killing and mutalating poor animals, only god knows what else. alls i gotta say is its ******** that keiths takin all the blame and all the time for this shit. he already served a year in jail. how do they find it fair he does another 4-8? and let the retard run wild? idk...but lee, remember mommy and daddy arent always gunna be there too save your dumb ***. and i know youll **** up soon enough. so untill that time comes well just have to sit here and watch. keith, your a great person, and an even better friend. you dont deserve this but just stay stong keep your head up. ill be ok. your family and friends love you and are behind you on everything.

Tunkhannock got a bit more than 10 inches. 14 would have been a better rounded number as not high in elevation, we got 14 and a half.

I think every police car should have an assault rifle. Any member of our community can buy one, and I am sure many in Meshoppen alone own one.

I love seeing people trash talk things like this. They will be the same people who complain when a bunch of the mexicans that over-run Meshoppen out gun the local policeman wondering where the hell his defense was.

Do any of you realize that a Glock .45 is about as useful as a pellet gun against someone with any sort of body armor?

It is unbelievable that something like this could get passed. Not only is it wasted taxpayer dollars that could be spent on many other useful things such as education or repairing local infrastructure, but the "need" for an assault rifle tells me there has been a drastic rise in violent crime in the area, which is undoubtedly false. Not to mention in other industrialized nations such as England, guns are completely outlawed, even for law enforcement, and there violent crime rate (and all crime in general) is far lower than that of the United States, so I don't see how we can justify allowing such lethal weapons.
