Keystone College and the Factoryville community will come together to celebrate Christy Mathewson Day this Saturday, Aug. 12.

This will be the 22nd consecutive year the two communities have celebrated the life and accomplishments of the Baseball Hall of Fame legend and Factoryville native.

The day will feature several events, including the display of Christy Mathewson memorabilia in Evans Hall until noon and the annual One-Mile Fun Run/Walk and Big 6K run/walk.

The fun run will begin at 8 a.m., with the 6K to follow at 8:30 a.m.

Highlights of the day’s activities include:

* 7 a.m. – Noon: Christy Mathewson memorabilia display in Evans Hall, Hibbard Campus Center.

* 7 a.m. Registration at Hibbard Campus Center for One-Mile Fun Run/Walk and “Big 6K run/walk.

* 8 a.m. One-Mile Fun Run begins on Keystone College Green.

* 8:30 a.m. “Big 6” Run/Walk begins on Keystone College Green.

* 10 a.m. Awards presentation and breakfast for run/walk participants in Hibbard Campus Center.

* 5 p.m. The annual Christy Mathewson community parade will begin on College Avenue on campus and proceed to Clinton/Factoryville Park, 154 Creek Rd., and Factoryville.

Events at the park will include a chicken barbeque, live music, games, vendors, talent and pet shows and fireworks at dusk.
