Misericordia University bolted out to a 10-0 lead in the first period and cruised to a 26-0 victory over Keystone College in non-conference men’s lacrosse action at Mangelsdorf Field on Wednesday (Feb. 28) to drop the Giants to 0-2 to start the season.

The Cougars settled for an 18-0 lead by intermission, also winning 16 of 20 face-offs and holding a commanding 42-10 margin in ground balls in the first half alone.

Sophomore goalkeeper Nicholas Vazquez was one of the few bright spot for the Giants, making 15 saves in the first half before turning the reigns over to fellow sophomore Dean Orofino, who finished with six saves.

Keystone returns to action this Thursday, March 8, against SUNY Cobleskill at the Giants’ Turf Field in La Plume beginning at 6 p.m.
