The Lackawanna Trail cross country team picked up three wins and swept the competition in a Lackawanna League tri-meet at Lakeland on Tuesday, Sept. 19.

The girls team improved its record to 5-2 with wins over Dunmore (24-30), Old Forge (27-29) and Riverside (15-50.

Sophomore Tori James led the way for the Lady Lions and finished first overall with a time of 21:17 on the 3.1-mile course.

Fellow sophomore Madison Swanchak was right behind, taking second in 23:13.

The boys team picked up their first three wins of the season with victories over Dunmore (22-33), Old Forge (22-34) and Riverside (23-32).

Junior Jared Klepadlo led the Lions, finishing 15th in 21:00 on the 3.1-mile course.

Lakeland’s Zach Reeves won the race in 18:35.
