The Tunkhannock Area girls basketball team picked up its fifth win of the season and improved to 2-0 in Division 2 of the Wyoming Valley Conference with a 60-38 victory at GAR on Tuesday, Jan. 2.

Tunkhannock jumped out to a 20-4 lead after the opening quarter and never looked back en route to a 33-19 advantage heading into halftime.

The Lady Tigers continued to pull away in the third with 13 more points, then outscored GAR 14-8 in the final quarter for the win.

Junior Abby Ritz scored a game-high 25 points to lead Tunkhannock as one of three players in double-figures, which also included seniors Sam Generotti with 14 and Kelly Barber with 13.
