The Tunkhannock Area girls tennis team continued its best start in more than at least a decade by improving to 6-0 in the Wyoming Valley Conference with a 5-0 win at GAR Monday afternoon and a 3-2 victory Thursday at MMI Prep.

Against GAR, seniors Autumn Grey, Leah Rome and RaeAnne Carpenter picked up three wins to sweep singles, while senior Hannah Chesner and freshman Jillian Landon and seniors Angelique Antenucci and Erin Kelly teamed up to sweep doubles victories.

At MMI Prep, Rome won in straight sets at No. 2 singles to pick up a point and the Lady Tigers doubles teams picked up two points to edge out the victory.

Those wins came from Chesner and Landon, who won in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2, and via default in No. 2 doubles.
