The 11-12 Bob Horlacher team won the District 31 major softball pennant Monday night over Back Mountain, 7-2, and advance to Sectionals on July 1.

Erin Dunn drove in three runs and winning pitcher Hope Jones drove in two to lead Horlacher, which finished the tournament unbeaten.

Jones twirled a four hitter and struck out seven in seven innings.

In the Section 5 Tournament set for a 7:30 p.m. start, Bob Horlacher will face the District 32 champion from the Scranton Area.

TUNKHANNOCK

9-10 Boys

 

The Tunkhannock 9-10 boys team beat Susco East on Friday, 8-7, and played Montrose yesterday. The team will be in action on Satuday at RTL/FWM at 3 p.m.

 

9-10 Softball

 

The Tunkhannock 9-10 softball team opened up pool play with a 4-1 win over Towanda on Sunday, and played at NEBALL yesterday. The team is back in action tomorrow at RTL at 5:30 p.m.

 

Junior Boys

 

The Tunkhannock junior boys team lost 7-6 to Sayre on Monday. for its first loss in pool play. The team plays at RTL today at 5:30 p.m., and will host Towanda Friday, also at 5:30 p.m.

 

Major Boys

 

The Tunkhannock major boys team opened up pool play with a 12-2 win against RTL on Saturday and won 14-5 against Susco East on Monday. The team plays again when it hosts Susq. City today at 6 p.m.

 

ROOSEVELT TRAIL
9-10 Boys

 

The RTL/FWM 9-10 boys team suffered a 15-0 loss to Montrose on Friday, and played at Susco East yesterday. The team plays again when it hosts Tunkhannock Saturday at 3 p.m.

The RTL 9-10 boys team won its first game of pool play when it beat NEBALL 5-1 on Friday, and played against Athens yesterday. The team plays again tomorrow, June 26, at Towanda at 6 p.m., and against Sayre on Saturday at 3 p.m.

 

9-10 Girls

 

The RTL 9-10 girls earned a 14-4 win against NEBALL in the first game of pool play on Sunday, and played against Towanda yesterday. The team will host Tunkhannock at Wy Boro Park tomorrow, June 26, at 5:30 p.m.

 

Junior Boys

 

The RTL junior boys team lost 5-1 to Athens Monday in the first game of pool play. The team plays again today when it hosts Tunkhannock in Laceyville at 5:30 p.m., and again on Friday when it hosts Sayre, also in Laceyville at 5:30 p.m.

 

Major Boys

 

The RTL major boys team lost 12-2 at the hands of Tunkhannock Saturday, but rebounded with a 19-7 win over Susq. City on Monday. The team plays again today at Susco East at 6 p.m.

 

Major Girls

 

The RTL major girls team finished pool play with a 1-2 record. The girls lost 15-5 to Towanda in the opening game on June 15, then fell 11-4 to NEBALL June 18 before picking up a 14-4 win against Blue Ridge on Saturday.

The Bob Horlacher 9-10 girls’ team starts play on Sunday against Greater Wyoming Area, and would play again Tuesday with a win.

 

9-10 Boys

 

The Bob Horlacher 9-10 boys’ team played Back Mountain on Monday is back in action today against West Pittston at Back Mountain, and will play Sunday against Harvey’s Lake at home before playing Kingston/ Forty Fort at West Pittston Tuesday.

 

Major Boys

 

The Bob Horlacher 11-12 boys’ major team suffered losses to Kingston/ Forty Fort on Friday, 12-0, and to Northwest on Sunday, 12-3. The team played yesterday against Swoyersville.

 

Major Softball

 

The major girls softball team won 7-2 Monday to clinch the DIstrcit 31 pennant.
