The Tunkhannock Senior Legion team swept Nanticoke in a Sunday doubleheader and beat Wilkes-Barre, 12-1, on Friday.

In the first game Sunday, both teams only managed two hits each, but Tunkhannock came away with a 4-1 win.

Josh McClain had one of the hits, driving in a run, and twirled a gem on the mound, allowing one earned run on six strikeouts. Lance Sherry had the other hit.

In the twinbill finale, Sean Soltysiak had two RBIs and two hits and Danny Kosty went 2 for 2 and scored to help lead Tunkhannock to the 8-7 win.

Lance Sherry drove in a run and scored twice and Bobby Gilpin had an RBI in his only at-bat.

Tunkhannock led 7-1 after four innings and was able to hold off a five-run seventh by Nanticoke. Tyler Weiss picked up the win on the mound, allowing four earned runs off 11 hits in 6.1 innings while striking out four. Brett Hughes picked up the save.

On Friday, Sherry had a big day at the dish, going 3 for 3 with three runs scored in the five-inning win. McClain also added three RBIs on a double and triple.

Race Sick ripped two hits and earned two RBIs and Cody Brown had two hits and scored twice.

Brett Hughes earned the win, allowing just two hits and one run while striking out three for Tunkhannock, which had seven extra base hits and led 10-0 after two innings.
