MU baseball to York Regionals

The Misericordia University baseball team will participate in the Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament of the NCAA Championships, Thursday-Monday, May 17-21, at Peoples Bank Park in York, PA.

The Cougars are seeded fifth and will face fourth-seeded Virginia Wesleyan, Thursday at 10 a.m.

MU will face Rowan or Castleton, Friday.

Sportsman’s Forum

Outdoor enthusiasts are invited to join state Rep. Gerald Mullery for a Sportsman Forum with officials from the Pennsylvania Fish and Game Commission.

The free, public event will be held from 6 p.m to 8 p.m., May 17, at the Luzerne County Community College Educational Conference Center.

Crush Cancer Color Run

On Saturday, May 19, at the Wyoming County Fairgrounds,this years Crush Cancer Color 5K and Fun Run is being held in memory of Jill Hoffman.

Online registration is closed at this time, but don’t worry, you can still participate. Just sign up at the race or email Emily Hoffman at crushcancer5k@gmail.com for more information.

All proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society & Jill Hoffman Memorial Athletic Scholarship.

Keystone/TU Teens conservation camp

Registration is now open for the Keystone/TU Teens Conservation Camp, June 17-23, sponsored by Trout Unlimited and Keystone College.

Cost is $400 and open to teens 14-18.

Tunkhannock pool activities

The Tunkhannock Area School District has some planned activities for the spring.

Open swim will be offered Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The cost is $2 per hour.

Water aerobics are also offered Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The cost is $3 per person.

Elk Lake pool activities

The Elk Lake School District Aquatic center in Dimock has planned activities for this spring.

Open swim will take place Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 6:30-8:30 p.m. and Saturday 4:30-6:30 p.m. The cost is $1 per person.

Adult swim and water aerobics combination will be held Saturday mornings 10:15-11:30 and the cost is $2 per person.

Water fitness classes are 3:45-4:45 p.m. Monday and Wednesday starting March 19 and 6-7 p.m. on Monday and Thursday starting March 12.

Summer competitive Swim Club will begin in June.

Red Cross swim lessons will begin in June.

As always, pool rentals are available on the weekends. Please call for scheduling and pricing. The costs are very reasonable.

Lackawanna Trail baseball at Montrose 4:30 p.m., LT softball vs. Dunmore 4:30 p.m. Tunkhannock softball vs. Towanda 4:30 p.m. Girls lacrosse quarterfinals.

MAY 21

Boys and Girls lacrosse semifinals. 2A softball first round playoffs.

MAY 22

Volleyball Semifinals. 2A and 4A baseball quarterfinals playoffs. 4A softball first round playoffs.
