Three Keystone College men’s soccer players have been selected to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III All-Mid-Atlantic Team.

Jalen Freeman was named Second Team All-Region while Carlos Bonilla and Khadim Thiam were tabbed as Third Team All-Region selections.

Freeman became the first Keystone player to repeat as an All-Region selection at the NCAA Division III level, earning a spot on the Second Team after being a Third Team selection last fall.

The senior defender collected his latest honor after repeating as the Colonial States Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year and a First Team All-CSAC selection this fall.

Freeman started all 17 games in which he played this season and recorded five points on one goal and three assists.

Freeman, who scored the game-winning goal in a victory over Wells College on Sept. 9, led a Keystone defense that posted a 1.35 goals-against average and recorded seven shutouts.

Bonilla was named Third Team All-Region after an outstanding debut season for the Giants in which he was named the CSAC Rookie of the Year while garnering First Team All-CSAC accolades.

The freshman forward played in 18 games this fall and led Keystone in scoring with 22 points on seven goals and eight assists, both of which were also team-highs.

Bonilla, who scored game-winning goals against CSAC opponents Immaculata University and Marywood University, was named the conference’s Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 22.

Thiam captured Third Team All-Region honors after a tremendous rookie season at Keystone in which he earned First Team All-CSAC accolades.

The freshman midfielder started all 17 games in which he played and recorded 12 points on five goals and two assists.

Thiam, who was named the CSAC Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 10, netted the game-winning goal in a conference win at Rosemont College on Oct. 24 and added a goal in the Giants’ 3-1 CSAC semifinal win over Centenary University on Nov. 2.

Keystone’s three All-Region selections this fall were the most for the program in a season since beginning NCAA Division III play and were also the most for any team in the Mid-Atlantic Region that did not appear in the NCAA Tournament.

Additionally, Bonilla and Thiam were two of just four freshmen to capture All-Region accolades in the region.

The Giants also boast three of the five players from the CSAC to earn All-Region honors this fall as Freeman, Bonilla, and Thiam were joined by Cabrini University senior Ben Roda (Second Team) and Neumann University senior Jake McDevitt (Third Team) as Mid-Atlantic All-Region selections.

Keystone went 13-5-1 (7-1-1 CSAC) this past fall and finished as the CSAC runner-up after reaching the conference championship game for the first time in program history.
