The Tunkhannock boys and girls track and field team competed in the 9th annual Nike Henderson Track and Field Invitational at West Chester Henderson High School on Friday.
On the boys’ side, the Tigers were highlighted by Jack Tidball, who finished seventh overall in the 1600 run at 4:28.63, eight seconds behind the first-place finisher.
Carson Ayers also placed 54th in the 1600, while Jacob Toczko finished in 11th in the 3200 meter run at 9:49.98.
Also for Tunkhannock, Brett Stage appeared in the high jump and finished in a tie for 16th at 5-10, and Alan Grow ran a personal best in the open mile with a 5:03.20.
For the girls, Maggie Toczko led the Tigers with a sixth-place finish in the 3200 meter run with a school record and personal best time of 11:12.37.
She had previously set the record as a freshman last season with an 11:38.88, and reset it again at the Wyalusing Invitational with an 11:21.
The previous record was set by Angela Franko with an 11:42 in 2001.
Toczko also holds the school record in the 1600 with a time of 5:13.33, which she set at the East Stroudsburg Red and Black Invitational on April 17.
The previous record belonged to Abbey Valvano, who ran a 5:26 in 2002.
Morgan Phillips also earned an eighth place finish in the shot put at 33-07.
