The Tunkhannock Area girls volleyball team edged out a 3-2 victory at GAR on Monday after losing 3-0 to Delaware Valley Thursday.
The win improved the Lady Tigers to 2-6 in the Wyoming Valley Conference.
Against GAR, Tunkhannock dropped the first two sets, 25-21 and 25-22, but found a way to battle back.
The Lady Tigers won the third set 25-23 and fought through the fourth to win 26-24.
In the fifth and final set, Tunkhannock continued its rhythm on offense and pulled out the 15-8 win.
Junior Sadie Trochak had 13 assists and 10 service points, sophomore Megan Straley had 25 digs and 15 service points, senior Kayla Binner added 12 kills and eight blocks and senior Rachel Fernandez chipped in 14 service points to lead the Lady Tigers.
Against Delaware Valley, the Lady Tigers couldn’t find an answer on defense as Delaware Valley rolled to 25-10, 25-16 and 25-14 wins in three sets.
Straley finished with 15 service points and 10 digs, Binner added two blocks and two aces and senior Mikayla Mills chipped in seven service points and four aces to lead Tunkhannock.
