The Tunkhannock Area boys tennis team dropped to 3-3 overall in the Wyoming Valley Conference after losing 4-1 to Holy Redeemer on Monday and 3-2 to Dallas on Thursday.

Against Holy Redeemer, senior Avery Newhart won No. 2 singles in straight sets to pick up the only point for the Tigers.

Newhart also won against Dallas, battling back after losing the opening set to win the last two, 6-4, 6-4.

Senior Alek Greenip also won in No. 3 singles, but Dallas was able to sweep the doubles competition to edge out the win.

Dallas 3, Tunkhannock 2

Singles: 1. Mark Roginski (Dal) def. Luke Straley 7-5, 7-5. 2. Avery Newhart (T) def. John Toussaint 4-6, 6-4, 6-4. 3. Alek Greenip (T) def. Robbie Lauer 6-1, 6-2.

Doubles: 1. Joe Fioti/AlexDeRome (Dal) def. Ethan Hoefert/Alex Davis 6-1, 6-4. 2. Dom Rizzo/Matt Dillon (Dal) def. Alex Keiser/Jared Fernandez 6-2, 6-2.
