The Elk Lake boys soccer team dropped to 0-10 in the Lackawanna League after losing 3-2 in double overtime at Holy Cross on Friday and 14-0 at Scranton Prep on Wednesday, Oct. 4.
Against Holy Cross, Elk Lake tied things up at 1-1 in the second half when senior Kevin Valvano scored off an assist from senior Caleb Ely.
Valvano then assisted on a goal by sophomore Alex Bradish in the 57th minute to give the Warriors the lead, but Holy Cross tied the score 10 minutes later to force overtime.
Both teams went scoreless in the first extra frame before Holy Cross scored the game-winner in the 98th minute for the Division II win.
Elk Lake was outshot, 29-19, and Holy Cross held the corners advantage, 9-4.
Junior Jacob Kelley finished the contest with a game-high 14 saves in the defeat.
At Scranton Prep, the Cavaliers scored nine goals in the first half en route to the win.
Prep outshot the Warriors, 29-4, and held a 7-1 advantage in corners.
Kelley finished the game with nine saves for Elk Lake.
