The Elk Lake boys basketball team dropped to 10-10 overall after losing 66-49 at Carbondale in a Division III-IV crossover game on Friday night and 56-38 to Susquehanna on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

The loss to the Sabers also bumped the Warriors to 1-3 in Division IV of the Lackawanna League for the second half.

At Carbondale, Elk Lake trailed by three heading into the second quarter before Carbondale made its run, outscoring the Warriors 19-11 to lead 32-21 at the half.

In the third, the Chargers put the game away with 21 points.

Senior Rierdan Reyan scored a game-high 23 points to lead the Warriors and senior Kobe Jayne added 14 in the loss.

Against the Sabers, Elk Lake fell behind 17-8 after the first quarter and was held to six points in the second as Susquehanna put the game out of reach with a 27-14 advantage at halftime.

Reyan again led the Warriors with a game-high 21 points, and lead all of Division 4 scoring entering the week with an 18.7 points-per-game average.

He’s also second in the division in 3-pointers-per-game with a 1.8 average.
