Lottie Bagdonas, 94, of Tunkhannock, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 11, 2014. She was married to the late John J. Bagdonas in June 1976.

She was born in Noxen on April 24, 1919, the daughter of the late Aaron and Rosella Beavers Swingle.

Lottie enjoyed dancing, doing puzzles, watching NewsWatch 16, and the Family Feud. Lottie was a homemaker most of her life who always was there for her husband and family. Lottie had an infectious laughter and a witty personality. She was a remarkable and inspirational woman who will be sadly missed by all.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lottie is preceded in death by all 10 of her siblings of whom she was the youngest: her brothers Jim, William, Norman, Jasper, and Wilson Swingle; and sisters: Roxanne, Violetta, Dorothy, Verna, and Delli; and sons-in law: Harlan “Butch” Hoover and Richard “Burt” Steele.

She is survived by her two daughters: Helen Hoover (and Helen’s companion Michael Klecha) of Tunkhannock, and Verna Steele of Stevensville; and grandchildren: John and wife Robbin Fenton of Tunkhannock, Linda and

husband Stephen Garinger of New Albany, Richard Steele of Laceyville, April and Tad Bair of Laceyville, Melissa and husband Gregory Madan of Tunkhannock, Richard Hoover of Tunkhannock, and Jason and wife Samantha Hoover of Tunkhannock. Lottie also had seven great grandchildren and seven great, great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning, Feb. 15,from the Harding-Litwin funeral 123 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, with Pastor Mike MacWhinnie from the Moxie Community Church officiating.

Interment will take place at a later date at the Sunnyside Cemetery.
